When Style Magazine asked what excited us design-wise for 2016, we immediately agreed on the new alpaca rugs that we recently brought into the store. These rustic rugs are made with all natural alpaca fibers from a ranch in Placer County. In a range of 16 beautiful, natural colors, these fibers are spun around a jute core, which makes them exceptionally sturdy.
Since the rugs don’t have synthetic dyes they resist fading and retain their vibrant colors for life. Alpaca fiber is naturally anti-microbial and can be used anywhere in the home, including the bathroom. Many of our customers are using these rugs in their mountain homes, where their rustic style and exceptional durability works really well.
Caring for these rugs is truly simple. You can use a smooth surface attachment to vacuum your rug as needed or take it outside and shake it. There will be some slight shedding that is practically unnoticeable. Spots can be treated with mild soap and lukewarm water, and if needed, the entire rug can be sprayed with a hose and dried outdoors or professionally cleaned.
We currently carry 3 sizes of the rug, but can custom order in sizes up to 5’ x 7’.
