Although we were lucky to have a relatively mild winter, everyone welcomes that shift in the seasons where the days become longer, the sun feels warmer and the sky shines a brighter blue. Transitioning between the seasons with décor creates an inviting space for your family and guests.
Here are some easy ways to bring the bright, fresh feeling of spring into your home today.
Start at the front door
Do you love the idea of an exciting pop of color but aren’t sure where to start? Consider covering your front door with a fresh coat of paint. Whether you choose bright red, cool grey or robin’s egg blue, this welcoming splash of color sets the tone for the rest of the home. Add a decorative decal with a greeting such as a cheerful “hello,” or “welcome” for an unexpected touch.
Bring Natural Elements Inside
Spring showcases nature at its finest. Bring those budding branches, lush florals and textured bird’s nests inside to instantly create a feeling of spring in your home. Next, find unusual ways to display these beautiful items to create interest. How about filling a pair of rain boots with beautiful, blossoming branches, or painting a set of small bottles in creamy pastels to hold tiny arrangements? Nests and other items can be nestled into glass pieces of all sizes or tucked under a glass cloche to become a centerpiece or part of a larger display. Get creative!
Fill Your Home with the Scents of Spring
An easy way to infuse your home with a feeling of spring is to use fragrance. Look for candles that have fresh, green notes like vetiver, fig and laurel, or floral notes like geranium, lily and freesia. Some of our favorite candles for spring include Baies by Diptyque, with notes of rose and black current; Vetiver, a grassy scent, by Linnea’s Lights; and Viennese Blooms by Seda France. You can also make your own candles with essential oils, natural soy or beeswax and a metal-free wick. Open the windows, light a candle and relax in your light and refreshed surroundings!
