Job Description:

The Floral Designer is responsible for creating and maintaining artificial floral and foliage arrangements while delivering a high level of customer service. This role balances creative design work with customer interaction and merchandising responsibilities. The Floral Designer plays a key role in maintaining the visual presentation of the showroom while supporting sales and ensuring a positive customer experience.

Schedule & Compensation:

• Hourly, non-exempt position
• Full-Time: 30–40 hours per week; typical shifts are 6–8 hours
• Part-Time: 20–25 hours per week; typical shifts are 4–5 hours
• Schedules are posted weekly and may vary based on business needs
• Weekend availability is required
• Two designated blackout days per year where all employees are required to work

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Design and create artificial floral and foliage arrangements while maintaining quality and consistency (approx. 40%)
• Assist customers with selections, provide recommendations, and ensure a positive customer experience (approx. 40%)
• Maintain and merchandise floral displays to ensure a clean, organized, and visually appealing showroom (approx. 15%)
• Complete administrative tasks including order entry and customer transactions (approx. 5%)
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas and materials
• Use Retail Pro system for transactions and order processing
• Assist with stocking and maintaining inventory levels
• Support front counter operations as needed
• Assist other departments as needed to support overall store operations

Qualifications:

Strong attention to detail and creativity; ability to work independently while maintaining productivity; strong customer service and communication skills; ability to balance creative and operational responsibilities; organizational skills and reliability; ability to adapt to seasonal workload changes.Required Software: Retail Pro POS system

Physical Requirements:

Regularly required to stand and walk throughout the shift. Frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Frequent use of hands for detailed design work.

Work Environment:

Indoor retail showroom environment with low to moderate noise levels. Fast-paced conditions during seasonal peak periods.
